Practical information for incoming students

In order for your study trip to France to go as smoothly as possible, you must prepare for it in the best possible conditions. ESIEE-IT is equipped with free access platforms available in several languages that will accompany you step by step in your administrative procedures for France, and in your search for accommodation. In the meantime, here is the essential information.

Accommodation

There is a wide variety of accommodation for incoming students. However Cergy-Pontoise is a large student city with a lot of demand for accommodation, so you really have to take care of where you will stay in advance.

ESIEE-IT, thanks to a partnership, can offer accommodation in a student house, located 5 minutes’ walk from the school. Shared apartments for 2 people are available. There are also other student housing in Cergy-Pontoise, available thanks to a dedicated platform. Student housing will be filled up quickly so we advise our incoming students to look for housing quickly after being notified of their admission.

Insurance

Civil liability insurance is mandatory for all exchange students.

Students must purchase a French housing insurance, preferably before their arrival, in order to move into their residence. Sometimes housing insurance can include civil liability. So check before taking out double insurance.

Visa

If you want to know if a visa is required or not to come to France, the procedures and costs, you can use this visa assistant
You are not required to obtain a visa if you are a citizen from the European Union or Schengen Area.
